Sponsorship

Many people suffering from addictions or obsessions first hear EFF's message of hope thanks to the work of volunteers on our Service Committees.

Sponsorship in EFF occurs when a member who has made progress in their emotional sobriety recovery shares their experience on a weekly, one-on-one basis with another member striving to achieve or maintain emotional sobriety through EFF. When first joining EFF, it's common to feel confused, hesitant to participate, or alone in addressing our addictions or obsessions. While informal, sponsorship is a vital component of recovery through the 12-step process. Sponsorship is your next step if you have been attending EFF meetings for at least one month and feel ready to begin your process of recovery through the 12 steps.

EFF's Service Committee meets on the last Wednesday of every month at 7:45pm, immediately following the EFF weekly meeting.

If you have been attending EFF for at least one month we invite you to be part of our Service Committee.

Service Work

In EFF we define service work as helping others to further your own emotional healing and sobriety. At first, service work can look like showing up to meetings with your camera turned on, speaking and engaging in meetings. Eventually, service work moves into serving as meeting administrator to lead weekly EFF meetings, serving on the EFF Service Committee, and sponsoring other members through 12 Step Sponsorship
